Track-focused MINI JCW Challenge gets limited-slip diff and adjustable suspension but costs £32k
This is the MINI John Cooper Works Challenge, a limited-edition version of the MINI JCW with some extra track-focused upgrades to make it better to drive than ever. It’s limited to just 100 units, and will only be on sale in the UK.
It’s based on the standard MINI JCW, and gets the same 228bhp 2.0litre four-cylinder engine under the bonnet. With 320Nm of torque, that means the car goes from 0-62mph in 6.3 seconds.

The changes for this new version are all about improving the car’s on-track performance. That means it gets stickier Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and new Nitron adjustable springs and dampers to help owners get the best grip on their favourite circuits.
A Quaife limited-slip differential has also been fitted, which works in tandem with the MINI’s electronic systems to deliver optimal grip during braking and acceleration by transferring power away from the front wheel with less grip.

New alloy wheels save 1.5kg in unsprung weight at each corner, and the new tyres help save a further 1kg each. More powerful brakes have been added that are less likely to fade after heavy track use, too, and there’s an aero kit that adds spoilers, a rear diffuser and a front splitter.
There’s a JCW Pro exhaust fitted too, which has a volume option that can be controlled via Bluetooth. Loud Sport and very loud Track modes are available.
Inside, each car gets a Carbon Black interior theme with a build number on the passenger side. You can’t choose any options with the car, but you do get all the kit from the JCW model as standard, all for a price of £32,000.
