The new Mercedes E-Class was finally revealed at a private event before the 2016 Detroit Motor Show started.

The next-generation Mercedes E-Class is set to be the most advanced ever, with a whole range of safety and driver assistance systems debuting.&nbsp;

A labyrinth of next-gen sensors, cameras and radar have been fitted to take the car to the next level of automated driving.&nbsp;

There are less cameras and sensors than before, but they all have increased functionality.&nbsp;

The car won't be fully autonomous, but it is a step up over the current generation.&nbsp;

There's a huge array of new features on the next E-Class, from Intelligent Drive with Steering Pilot that can negotiate bends on the motorway, Accident Prevention tech with Active Brake Assist, Evasive Steering Assist and Car-to-X Comm

Newer, smarter LED headlamps will feature on the new E-Class both front and rear.&nbsp;

This is the next-generation Mercedes- E-class executive saloon spied testing,

It'll get a range of four and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, with a range topping AMG V8 version producing over 600bhp.

Mercedes revealed the E-Class, with lashings of interior technology and Mercedes' family styling.
