Jaguar F-Pace updated for 2018 with new tech and options

Jaguar F-Pace 2018 model year

Jaguar has updated the F-Pace SUV, with all models receiving new cabin and driver assistance tech as standard alongside updated petrol engines now fitted with particulate filters.

The updates arrive alongside the introduction of the long-awaited 542bhp F-Pace SVR, joining the line-up for 2018.

Every F-Pace now comes with front and rear parking sensors, a rear view camera, automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist as standard, alongside Jaguar’s Driver Condition Monitor feature. In the cabin, Jaguar Land Rover’s 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment screen is now standard fit on all cars too.

The car’s adaptive cruise control function has been updated too, and now comes with Steering Assist. When activated, the feature maintains the car’s position in the centre of its lane automatically, and works at speeds of up to 112mph. Adaptive cruise now boasts Stop & Go functionality too, and can bring the vehicle to a complete halt. To resume, the driver only has to nudge the accelerator.

Elsewhere, radar-based High-Speed Emergency Braking has been updated to work at speeds between 6-99mph, alerting the driver to potential collisions and applying the brakes automatically if necessary.

Three new optional packs arrive. The Park Pack includes Park Assist, a 360-degree top down camera system and a rear traffic monitoring system, while the Drive Pack is made up of adaptive cruise control with the new Stop & Go function, blind spot assistance and the updated High-Speed Emergency Braking technology. The Driver Assist pack combines the two, but also includes the semi-autonomous Steering Assist feature. A final new option makes the cut in the form of new slimline sports seats.

Finally, alongside the new particulate filters, selected petrol F-Pace models gain larger fuel tanks, up from 63-litres to 82-litres. The changes reflect the updates recently announced for the F-Pace’s sister car – the Range Rover Velar.
