Hyundai launches World Cup special editions

New Hyundai ix35 and i30 special editions celebrate the 2014 World Cup, featuring more kit for less cash

Hyundai has launched special edition versions of the ix35 and i30. As an official partner of the 2014 World Cup, the models feature exclusive styling and added kit to mark the world’s biggest sporting event.

The ix35 Go! adds more than £1,500 of equipment to the ix35 SE spec on which it is based for a £650 premium. Features include 18-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof and privacy glass. More premium Go! SE is based on the Premium Panorama spec, adding kit such as heated steering wheel, front parking sensors and individual low tyre pressure warning. It’s priced at £650 less than the model it’s based on even with the £850 worth of extra kit.

Each of the SUV special editions features gloss black door mirrors and Go! Badges. Production of the ix35 Go! will be limited to just 550 models and the ix35 Go! SE to just 150, priced from £20,750 and £23,000 respectively. Both use the 1.7-litre diesel engine and six-speed manual gearbox, but come in front-wheel drive only.

Also available are two special editions of the i30. The i30 Go! SE and Go! SE Panorama editions are based on the five-door hatchback, with engine options including the 1.4-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel for the Go! SE, with a more powerful 1.6-litre petrol also offered on the Go! SE Panorama edition.

Added kit includes alloy wheels, electric folding black gloss exterior door mirrors with integral LED indicators, tinted windows and LED taillights. The Go! SE Panorama also adds a panoramic sunroof and larger 17-inch alloy wheels. Prices start from £16,000 and £17,300 respectively.
