Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC price, specification and release date

The Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC is out now, priced from £22,800

The Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC is available to buy now, with prices starting at £22,800 for the entry-level S trim and £26,880 for the top of the range SR version.

Honda CR-V review

The Honda CR-V range desperately needed an economical two-wheel drive model to compete with its main rivals, so Honda has fitted it out with the 1.6-litre diesel engine from the Civic hatchback. The engine gets an impressive 62.8mpg, which means it can cover up to 800 miles on a single tank of diesel. Emissions of 119g/km CO2 means the road tax is free for the first year of ownership too, with it only costing £30 annually thereafter.

You can buy the Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC in a range of specifications, with prices starting at £22,800 for the entry-level S spec. Standard equipment includes dual zone climate control, a digital radio, USB connectivity, cruise control, a five-inch information display, 17-inch alloy wheels and heated door mirrors. You can also get the S trim in a special S-T version, which adds sat-nav and Bluetooth for £765. Go for the mid-spec Honda CR-V SE trim andd you get full parking sensors, a rear-facing camera, Bluetooth, a leather steering wheel and automatic lights and wipers as standard. You can also add sat-nav to the SE by going for the SE-T model.

The top-spec SR specification costs from £26,880, and gets everything from the lower models in the range plus Alcantara and leather upholstery, heated front seats, a more expensive sound system, tinted windows, Bi-HID xenon headlights with active cornering, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels and lumber support for driver and passenger.

The Honda CR-V gets 1,669 litres of boot space thanks to a 60/40 split rear seat and plenty of neat interior features like a central armrest for the rear seats to keep everyone comfortable. The CR-V gets a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The top-spec SR model actually only gets 60.1mpg and emits 124g/km of CO2 compared to the S and SE models' 62.8mpg and 119g/km of CO2 - thanks to added weight from the extra accessories and equipment.

The new Honda CR-V, as well as the new 1.6-litre diesel engine, are built at Honda’s factory in Swindon. The Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC is on sale now.
