Ford Mondeo Estate - pictures

Ford's fourth-generation Mondeo has arrived in the UK.

The new Mondeo Estate looks distinctive, especially in the optional Ruby Red paint seen here.

Loadspace is good at 525 litres, but not class-leading.

The Mondeo is available with a wide range of engines and soon you'll be able to buy one with Ford's tiny 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine.

Previous Mondeos have been great to drive but this one leans more towards comfort.

The interior is a disappointment due to poor finish.

The optional automatic isn't great.

Ford's SYNC2 touchscreen system is good but not up to the best in class.

The front seats are comfortable but not very supportive.

Space in the rear is bested by the VW Passat.

The Ford Mondeo estate's boot is large, but lacks the clever touches of some rivals.

You won't be able to buy a hybrid Mondeo estate - only a hatch.

All engines offer decent economy.
