New Fiat Fullback Cross aims to capture lifestyle market

Fiat has launched a new style-oriented Cross version of its Fullback pick-up, with sporty tweaks and extra kit

Fiat's long-awaited foray into the pick-up truck market - the new Fullback - has just become more desirable thanks to some factory fit styling upgrades in the Fullback Cross. It's due to hit showrooms in the summer.

Built to "further broaden the appeal of the Fullback with lifestyle users", the Cross features some exterior styling upgrades including a redesigned grille with matt black colouring and a satin silver skid plate. The mirrors, door handles and a new rear sport bar that sits over the load bay are also in black, while larger side steps and a black load bay complete the look.

Only available in double-cab form, the Fullback Cross has an extensive standard kit list. It features seven airbags, lane departure warning, trailer stability assist, cruise control, xenon headlamps with LED running lights and heated leather upholstery (with an electric driver's seat). Dual-zone climate control, sat-nav and a rear-view camera completes the main equipment tally.

Only available with a 177bhp 2.4-litre diesel engine, the Fullback gets the choice of a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic gearbox. Four mode selectable all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled clutch is standard fitment. Expect the Fullback Cross to be priced at slightly more than a similarly equipped standard model.
