Dacia Sandero Stepway prices announced

The rugged Sandero Stepway is now available to order, priced from £7,995

Dacia has revealed prices for the Sandero Stepway – the more rugged, high-riding version of the Sandero supermini. Prices start from £7,995 - £600 more than the equivalent Sandero – and order books are open now, with first deliveries expected in May.

With the Duster SUV already on sale, the Stepway is Dacia’s third model for the UK market. It takes the standard Sandero and adds front and rear scuff plates, plastic wheel arch extensions and roof bars, as well as a 40mm increase in ride height.

Unlike the Sandero which starts at £5,995 and comes with a choice of three trim levels – Access, Ambiance and Laureate – and three engines – a 1.2 petrol, 0.9 TCe and 1.5 dCi - the Stepway is offered in only Ambiance and Laureate and with the most powerful engines.

Therefore the entry-level Stepway is an 89bhp 1.2 TCe Ambiance costing £7,995, which comes with electric front windows, a CD stereo, Bluetooth and metallic paint as standard. The same trim grade but with the 89bhp 1.5 dCi engine capable of returning 70.6mpg and 105g/km of CO2, costs £8,995.

Top-spec Laureate models add air conditioning, a chrome front grille, full electric windows and electric heated door mirrors. Unlike the top-spec Sandero, the seven-inch touchscreen sat-nav is included, too. The 0.9 TCe model starts from £9,795 and the 1.5 dCi at £10,795 with leather upholstery a £600 option.
