New custom liveries for Citroen Ami quadricycle launched

The new decorative graphics are only available in Europe for the time being, but Citroen says they could come to the UK with the Ami in 2022

Citroen has broadened the number of customisation options open to buyers of the new Ami in Europe, revealing several humourous liveries that can be applied to the small electric quadricycle.

Citroen says these new customisation options preview some of the extras that will be available to buyers when the Ami comes to the UK in spring 2022. However, we’ll have to wait a little longer before full UK specifications are finalised.

Citroen had received more than 12,000 expressions of interest from British buyers before confirming that the Ami would go on sale in the UK. In the fortnight since reservations opening, over 1,000 £250 deposits have been placed, and 14,000 expressions of interest have been registered.

European buyers have a choice of six off-the-shelf liveries to choose from, all of which add unique stickers to the Ami’s doors and bumpers. Click through our gallery to check out the full range of designs.

The most stand-out liveries includes the Jungle theme, which adds a tiger-print motif to the doors and yellow race number to the front bumper. There’s also a British GlobeTrotter theme, which features tweed and Union Flag stickers to the doors and a GB print up front.

French Ami buyers can even design their own liveries to plaster along the sides of their cars, by uploading their own photos to an online portal. The custom design comes in a DIY pack, with instructions showing how to apply the stickers on the car at home.

The Ami features a 5.5kWh battery pack and a tiny 8bhp electric motor, which offer a maximum range of 46 miles and a top speed of 28mph. A full charge from a three-pin plug takes three hours.

UK prices for the Citroen Ami are also expected to mirror that of Europe, starting from around £6,000. That means the quadricycle will be one of the cheapest ways to get into EV ownership, though it will only be offered in left-hand-drive in the UK.
