Audi A2 Colour Storm

Brightly coloured cars look great in the sun, so Audi has launched an eye-catching special edition A2, named Colour Storm, to boost summer sales.

It would be a brave move to order your new A2 with the Colour Storm package, but the car will definitely get you noticed. While it's worth taking advantage of the free servicing deal on offer, there are no other financial incentives to choose this Audi.

Available in Misano Red, Sprint Blue or Imola Yellow, the vivid hues ensure that these cars get plenty of attention on the road, and are a dramatic departure from the rather conservative image of the standard machine. To complement the paintwork, Colour Storm models also have a black bodykit and chunkier-looking bumpers. Inside, brighter seat trim livens an otherwise sombre cabin.

Buyers can opt to add the Colour Storm package to any standard or SE A2; the car we drove was powered by Audi's peaky but economical 1.6-litre FSI engine. We would have preferred to use the ultra-frugal oil-burning model, but the 110bhp petrol unit is a capable performer, which delivers a
respectable 0-60mph time of 9.8 seconds, yet still returns 48mpg overall. So how much will it set customers back to add a distinctive touch of individuality to Audi's sharp-suited small car? The option package is listed at £630, and that increases the purchase price of a standard 1.6 FSI to £14,810.The A2 Colour Storm is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is certainly bold enough to attract the attention of other road users whatever the weather.
