BMW i8 goes technicolour with Individual paintwork options
New BMW i8 colours will cost an extra £5,495 and come in a variety of finishes
BMW has extended its Individual paintwork scheme to its hybrid supercar, the i8. Previously only available with a limited palette consisting of whites, greys and a single bright blue, customers can now order their i8 in anything from bright Solar Orange to eye-popping Java Green.
BMW’s Individual paint also allows for a choice of finishes. Standard metallic and non-metallic options are available, but there’s also an option called Xirallic, where the paint is mixed with tiny flakes of aluminium to create a standout finish. ‘Frozen’ is another choice, which gives a matte finish with a ‘unique shimmer’.

The BMW Individual paint schemes are available now from all i8-specific BMW dealers, and will cost £5,495 as an option.
The news follows in the footsteps of the UK-only Protonic Red edition of the i8. That car also comes with new W-spoke alloys, which are available across the rest of the i8 range as part of the new Individual programme.
