Fuelsure

KO misfuel mishaps.

Misfuelling your car can result in an expensive repair bill – but here’s a clever idea to ensure you don’t get caught out.

Fuelsure is a retro-fit device that is suited to more than 90 per cent of cars in the UK, and aims to stop you ever using the wrong fuel again.

The protective rubber device takes the place of the vehicle’s standard filler cap, and is brightly coloured, so you can’t fail to notice it when at the station – serving as a useful reminder on what fuel to use. The cap also protects the paintwork around the filler opening and requires no tools to fit. Only the larger diesel nozzle makes contact with the rollers embedded in the neck of the device, allowing the locked cap to be released. When this happens you simply remove the fuel nozzle and fill the car up as normal, locking the cap back into place when finished.

Four filler neck adapters are included for different applications, and there is also an emergency release tool to be kept in the vehicle to open the flap in case you’re filling from a fuel can. Fuelsure is available from the maker’s website, and in larger branches of Halfords.
