Plantronics Voyager PRO Bluetooth headset

Price: £79.99

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The technology that enabled Neil Armstrong to utter those famous words 40 years ago is now available to every driver!

The Voyager PRO Bluetooth unit is the latest product from US manufacturer Plantronics, which supplied the original headsets for the Apollo 11 moon landings in 1969. It uses Audio IQ2 gadgetry, a noise-cancellation facility and two microphones. The adjustable boom promises to remove ambient noise and deliver your voice loud and clear.

The newcomer also claims to eliminate wind noise, with three layers of WindSmart technology built into the acoustic fabrics and stainless steel microphone screens. An adaptive 20-band equalizer means the sleek unit shouldn’t distort, either, whether you’re talking or listening, and there are two volume buttons.

The behind-the-ear design is said to make the Voyager PRO unnoticeable, and the batteries give six hours’ talk time or five days’ standby – long enough to talk to Mission Control!

 * Maker’s claim: “The Voyager PRO is a high-performance headset for professional users who demand unparalleled sound quality, plus impressive comfort and usability.”
