Marvel’s new Avengers: Assemble film comes out this week, and slot car maker Carrera has launched a 1:43-scale set to celebrate the release.
It’s a figure-of-eight track, without the up-and-over section or loop of Carrera’s Rally Rivals set. However, there’s a crossover section for crashes galore, plus barriers decorated with characters from the film. Although the track is nearly 12ft long, the clever design means it takes up less than 5ft by 3ft of space when built.
The Hero Team Chase set comes with two cars – the Iron Man-themed Tech Racer and the Captain America-styled Stormer – plus the track, a power supply and two controllers. The latter have accelerator triggers at the top and an index finger boost button for an extra burst of speed.
The fun cars and quick set-up time make this compact set ideal for kids; it’s suitable for children older than eight.
