Pictures of the Mercedes A-Class (Mk3, 2013-2018) in original and post 2015 facelift form.

Third generation Mercedes A-Class launched in 2012 with a more conventional design than it's tall-bodied predecessors

Buyers initially had a choice of 3 petrols; A 180 (122bhp 1.6-litre), A 200 (156bhp 1.6) or A 250 (211bhp 2.0-litre) and 2 diesels; A 180 CDI (109bhp 1.5 or 1.8) or A 200 CDI (136bhp 1.8-litre)

The petrol engines are smooth but the muscular diesels are a little lacking in refinement

Model pictured is a mid-range SE with 16" alloys. The entry level version sits on steel wheels, higher up the range the Sport offers 17" alloys and AMG Sport 18" alloys

Interior is stylish and classy but build quality isn't quite as high as you might expect. Some buyers have reported dashboard rattles, creaks and squeaks
