The Mercedes A 250 AMG – updated for 2015

This model is the only front wheel-drive derivative in the AMG line-up

The well-finished cabin has a high-quality feel

The A-Class model line-up has been re-jigged, with this model sitting below the all wheel-drive A 45 AMC

Externally it’s not obvious that this is a faster A-Class

Aside from the badge on the bootlid, the A 250 isn’t much different to the lower spec AMG models

Subtle exterior changes have been made, including new lights front and rear

Delivering a modest 218bhp, the A-Class still feels quick enough

There’s plenty of grip in corners and the stiff suspension limits any body roll well

The absence of a limited-slip differential or trick electronics sees the nose push out on the corners

Red-ringed air vents, sports seats and red seatbelts hint at the car’s sporty leanings
