Volvo came to the LA Motor Show without any cars on its stand this year, baffling the motoring journalism world.

The Rivian R1S is here to rival the Tesla Model X in the all-American electric SUV sector.  The seven-seat SUV is larger than the Model X and also has four electric motors giving a combined 750bhp and a torque output of 1,119Nm.

An updated Toyota Prius was on the Toyota stand at the LA Motor Show. It features a more toned down exterior look and an improved infotainment system. Also the Prius is now available with AWD.
