Toyota Tj Cruiser concept: the SUV van combo you’ve been waiting for - pictures

This is the 2017 Toyota Tj concept.

It offers a new (and there would be some who say exciting) blend of SUV and van.

Set to premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month, the Tj is aimed at drivers so like bags of practicality.

Toyota has said the concept will use a hybrid powertrain – in keeping with the times.

The Japanese marque has also said that the Tj will be built on a platform, which supports two- and four-wheel drive.

The new Toyota has plenty of useful features planned, sliding rear doors and a large boot opening are but two.

To help mitigate those small accidents, the bonnet, roof and wheel arches are made from materials, which resist scratches and small encounters with other objects. 

Inside the back, there is a host of anchoring points to secure your payload. 

The seats can be folded completely fat to have a load bay which is 3m long at its maximum

Despite being aimed at users who value practicality, there is only four seats in the concept vehicle.
