Step up to a £400 monthly budget, and a world of motoring opportunities opens up before you. Business users wanting to cut a dash in the company car park can get their hands on BMW’s excellent 3-Series Coupé at this price point – and you can

The company’s contract hire package offers the stylish 320d SE Coupe for £399 a month, with an initial, up front outlay of £1,371. This deal is available to company drivers only, and unlike with personal contract plans, there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the term – so you simply hand it back once the three years are up.

As we’ve seen with other contract hire deals, drivers have to be careful not to exceed the mileage limit – BMW has set it at 30,000 for the duration of the rental period.

Do more than that, and you’ll pay an additional fee of 7.4 pence per mile at the end of the deal.

Keeping the mileage down will be a challenge considering how good the 3 Coupé is to drive. Even though this is the entry-level version, it’s powered by a 181bhp 2.0-litre diesel – which is a superb performer. The classic front-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout helps the BMW to provide handling agility which no rival can match. And that’s all on top of good looks and a great cabin.
