Steve Walker

As head of digital content, Steve looks after the Auto Express, Carbuyer, evo and DrivingElectric websites. That means planning new content, growing online traffic and managing the web teams. He’s been a motoring journalist, road tester and editor for over 20 years, contributing to a series of leading print and digital titles over that time including MSN Cars, Auto Trader, The Scotsman and The Wall Street Journal.

Steve says…

“Right now is a great time to be writing and creating content about cars. We’ve seen a lot of huge changes in the industry and there are more to come, so keeping Auto Express readers informed while helping them make the best possible car buying decisions is a challenge and a real pleasure.”

Steve Walker Q&A

Q: What was your first car?

A: "It was a white Citroen AX in the ultra-basic Debut spec - body-coloured interior, manual choke, radio cassette, that was about it as far as the equipment list went. The simplicity of it probably helped but it was quite a reliable car and the 1.0-litre engine didn’t mind being worked hard."

Q: What is your dream car?

A: "Always a difficult question. If we’re sticking within the realms of possibility, i’d love a BMW 535d Touring. If it’s money no object, how about a Ferrari F12 TDF?"

Q: If you could change one thing about cars, driving or the car industry today what would it be?

A: "Almost nothing annoys me more than dodgy lane discipline on motorways but the main one is that i’d like to see legislators do more to encourage lighter, more efficient cars - they’re getting too big and heavy. "
