Pete says…

“Whether you’re a fan of reading a physical magazine or prefer to get your daily news fix online, Auto Express is an industry leader in both. That makes working for such a prestigious brand a very rewarding experience. I primarily work on the digital side, but there is so much crossover that it really feels like one big happy family.”

Pete Baiden Q&A

Q: What was your first car?

A: "A Rover 400 that I learned to drive in. At the time I thought it was the height of luxury as many of my friends were driving about in clapped out Vauxhall Corsas, but I soon came to realise that there was a reason nobody else in my age group wanted one. That said, it was reliable and I ended up upgrading it for a slightly newer model, before finally moving on to something more exciting".

Q: What is your dream car?

"From the moment I first fired up the V10 in an Audi R8, I’ve been in love with that engine. I’d rather go for the slightly more understated R8 than a Lamborghini Huracan, but, if I’m being honest, I wouldn’t say no to either. That said, if I bought an R8 home now, the wife would probably divorce me, so something with more doors would be better suited. Let’s go for a BMW M5".

Q: If you could change one thing about the car industry what would it be

A: "The them and us mentality surrounding internal combustion engines and EVs. They’re both cars, right? There are fantastic and awful examples of both and, environmental issues aside, there’s no reason they can’t get along for the time being".
