Crash Catcher in-car cameras

We test new dash camera, designed to catch crash crooks

In-car cameras can give you valuable evidence against crash-for-cash scammers. The Crash Catcher video recorder sticks on to your dash or windscreen and can record every journey in full HD. A five megapixel camera and night vision function mean you can film day or night.

There’s a choice of versions. The £119.99 CC1 features a wide 150-degree lens and can record in 720p resolution, while for an extra £10, you can get the CC2, which can record in 1,080p high definition. This has a 120-degree wide-angle lens for capturing most of the action ahead, plusa second lens to record what’s going on in the cabin.

The footage – which is time and date-stamped to be used as evidence – is recorded on to a micro SD card, although this isn’t included. Both devices have built-in microphones, and they come with a windscreen mount, car charger and all the other leads you might need, as well as a 12-month warranty.
