Driving Test Success: All Tests DVD

Price: £15.31
Rating: ★★★★

www.FocusMM.co.uk

BEST DVD Use your DVD player’s remote or computer mouse to get the most from this interactive package. There are three discs for £15, and it covers hazard perception, theory and practical tests. It’s a comprehensive kit, with the Highway Code, ‘show me, tell me’ videos and lots of information to prepare you. Plus, you can review your wrong answers after you’ve sat each mock test, making this a great resource. Our favourite DVD.

The Driving Test: Essential Information DVD
Price: £9.95
Rating: ★★★
Contact: www.instructor-training.co.uk

Well constructed Essential Information DVD does exactly what it says on the tin. There are top tips for passing the test, manoeuvres are demonstrated and you can watch a mock exam in action. What’s more, you get a detailed breakdown on the independent learning section of the practical test. But there are no mock tests you can sit yourself, and it doesn’t include the theory or hazard perception, so it has to settle for second in its class.

The Official DSA Guide to Hazard Perception DVD
Price: £15.99
Rating: ★★★
Contact: 0870 600 5522,
www.tsoshop.co.uk

Another bland DVD from the Driving Standards Agency – although the hazard perception disc does have an interactive test, which you can use with your DVD remote or computer mouse. It’s presented by TV’s Suzi Perry, and provides clear instruction in an engaging manner. But once you’ve finished your mock assessment, the feedback you get isn’t as detailed as with some rivals.

Prepare for your Practical Driving Test DVD - The Official DSA Guide
Price: £15.99
Contact: 0870 600 5522,
www.tsoshop.co.uk

Second DVD from the Government body, although Prepare for your Practical could be easier to use. The text is clear, but the menus aren’t logical, and not all the info on-screen is read aloud. Plus, as it’s aimed at young drivers, it could patronise over-25s learning. Includes independent driving, yet there’s no hazard perception, so it can’t challenge rivals here.
