As well as understated looks, this Kenwood has an old-fashioned, but very clear, dot matrix display. It played AAC files on top of the usual MP3/WMA, yet we thought the control layout was cluttered – especially the smaller buttons. The left-hand knob was loose, too. Good, but not a patch on the similarly priced Alpine.
