t’s virtual reality racing! Cult video driving game Need for Speedhas been brought to life by developer Electronic Arts (EA) and slot cargiant Scalextric – and the result is one of the most action-packedracing sets ever.

The cars in the new Need for Speedpackage have been designed exclusively by EA, while Scalextric has doneits bit by coming up with a range of entertaining and challengingcourses.

Buyers get a choice of the standard 1:32-scale setand the 1:64-scale MicroScalextric pack. Go for the former, and you geta Lamborghini Gallardo and Nissan 350Z, plus a thrilling figure ofeight track. Things are spiced up by the addition of a ‘flying leap’jump.

Magnetic connectors bring the cars back down to earth, so you can continue to navigate the five-metre course.

The MicroScalextric set features cars – both Nissan 350Zs – on a 1:64 scale.

However,you do get five alternative layouts to race on, and easy-to-usesingle-handle accelerator triggers to re-enact scenes from the populargame.
